James Clark

Director Of Business Operations, PayPal

I am originally from Wellington, I studied at Victoria University of Wellington. I started my career as a lawyer in Wellington, but then moved to London, briefly worked making toothpaste at GSK, completed my MBA at London Business School, and have been working at PayPal for the last 10 years. I run business operations for the sales organization supporting the European, Australian, and New Zealand markets – essentially I hold the sales teams accountable for hitting their targets while also finding ways for them to perform better and more efficiently.

On the personal side, I’m married to another kiwi, and we have two young children (2 and 4 years old). The kids were born in the UK, but they much prefer to wear a silver fern than a rose. We moved to Singapore just over two years ago – the day before Phase 2 Heightened Alert started. Most of my free time is consumed by the kids, but I do like running and tennis when I get the chance.

I want to join the Board as I believe I can contribute to the NZ Chamber and its members with my experience in the tech industry and to help with events that foster the growth of New Zealand companies – and kiwis themselves – in Singapore. In addition, after many years of being on the receiving end of the great work that the NZ Chamber (and other NZ organisations, such as KEA) do for the New Zealand community, I would like to give back as well.
