Arthur Chin

Executive Director

The Food Bank Singapore

I recently returned to Singapore following a 28-year stint in New Zealand where I studied and worked as a senior executive in international relations and strategy functions for organisations including ANZ, HSBC, Massey University and UCOL Te Pūkenga. Most recently I was Deputy Chief Executive at the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, where I was responsible for engagement and partnerships.

I have spent a considerable part of my adult life in New Zealand, living in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Palmerston North, yet remain captivated by its culture and amazing outdoor options. Living on a lifestyle farm with my wife (Jenny) and son (Isaac), I curated a live-streaming farm experience during the pandemic and hosted over 2,000 tours as lockdown measures were implemented globally.

I recently returned to Singapore so as to allow my teenage son to transition into secondary schooling prior to his enlistment for national service. In May I started my role as Executive Director with The Food Bank Singapore, a charity which aims to reduce food wastage and insecurity in Singapore.

I can offer to the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce my experience in international relations across the Asia pacific region, and my diverse background can help strengthen the Chamber’s initiatives and foster sustainable business practices.
