Events and Marketing Manager

Hours: 30 hours per week, incl after hours
The New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (Singapore) is a membership-based registered society serving the New Zealand community in Singapore. The Chamber is overseen by an annually elected Board, who volunteer their time.
The Chamber Events and Marketing Manager is a part-time role responsible for the overall marketing and event management of the Chamber. Working with the Executive Director, and other key stakeholders, the successful candidate will ensure our member's and sponsor-led events are promoted and delivered in line with our values and strategic goals. Specific responsibilities include:
- Managing all events from conception to execution, within the Chamber’s Mission, Vision, and Strategic pillars.
- Preparing pre-event briefs for signature events (Ball, WD, IWD) for Executive Board and other vested parties.
- Post-event debriefing for signature events including surveys and SWOT analysis.
- Work with the Executive Director (ED) to pitch event ideas and concepts to the Executive Board for approval.
- Responsible for events and marketing financials, tracking budget, and P&L.
- Generating leads and identifying businesses to build strategic event sponsorships aligned with the Chamber’s commercial needs.
- Managing the complete events life cycle of events through GlueUp.
- Curating and gathering content for the Chamber’s weekly newsletter, reaching our database of contacts, members, subscribers, and partners.
- Managing the Chamber’s main communication channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and website content.
- Updating (along with the ED) the calendar of events throughout the year.
- Producing visual content through Canva for all our communication channels.
- Maintaining an SEO-friendly website and periodically analysing Analytics, driving SEO and SEM, and making recommendations.
MAIN DUTIES of the role include (but are not limited to) -
Administration:
- Manage all stages of an event to achieve revenue targets.
- Handle administrative works and keep up-dated files on past, present, and future events.
- Sole contact for the pre-planning stage and complete organisation of events.
- Uploading to Xero all expenses related to events.
- Ensuring all event's relevant information is updated and synchronised within NZ Chamber’s Google Drive.
- Pre-event briefs to the Executive Board for signature events such as NZ Ball, Waitangi Day, and International Women’s Day.
- Ensure payments are received and expenses are allocated and tracked appropriately.
- Follow-up feedback from the members.
- Attend monthly Board Meetings.
- Together with the Executive Director, manages the volunteers in the office and at events.
- Monitor other Chamber activities to help develop strategies.
- Analyse historical and other statistics related to events for future opportunities.
Commercial Responsibilities:
- Closely observes matters pertaining to competition (sites, prices, services offered on a regular basis – quarterly or more often if need to be).
- Actively seek out sponsors for all events.
- Be sure the Chamber events are marketed as thoroughly as possible through all appropriate channels.
- Lead 6 monthly membership surveys
Relations:
- Manage member and non-member attendee communications for each and every event.
- Inform the members and sponsors of any special future promotions.
- Manage relations with sponsors to be aware of their needs for current and future events.
- Develop and maintain contact with business partners in all segments to which ally with Chamber business.

Many duties take place outside of normal business hours. The Events and Marketing Manager needs to be available on a flexible-time basis.
